NC Gen Stat § 1-50 (2022):
No action can be taken more than 6 years after:
1) Substantial completion.
2) Date cause of action occurred.
Whichever date occurs last.
State Statute for Construction: 6 Years
*The National Society of Professional Engineers Recommends an Additional: 3 Years
Recommended Document Retention 9 Years
